Project Buyer, Reporting to the Project & Technical Manager.
Controlling & managing budgets on bespoke projects for customers.
Negotiating prices, preparing & sending tenders to specified vendors.
Procuring bespoke materials, whilst also providing an efficient service to customers.
Working closely with Design Engineers, Sales, Technical, Production, Goods-In, & Finance to ensure that customers were provided with a quality service.
Budgeting, analysing products & suppliers’ availabilities for a project & preparing & sending for tender.
Identifying & selecting vendors to procure requisitioned commodities; meeting criteria such as price, quantity, quality, & delivery date through to placement of purchase orders.
Expediting; updating & reporting of delivery information.
Devising & maintaining projects, manually & electronically; ensuring accuracy & precision.
Sourcing materials & consumables; finding the right product (often bespoke) from the right supplier, ensuring timescales were met & product quality was achieved & technically certified to ISO9001 standard.
Negotiating prices; making regular large cost savings.
Preparing full project documentation/user friendly machine manuals, for customers, ensuring they have full, & accurate information, including, detailing all work carried out by the business. Ensuring contact details of spares & parts department are available to provide a seamless aftercare service.
Interviewing sales representatives: visiting their sites, to develop new sources of technical supplies; ensuring they could provide the right service for the business & that they held current standards ISO9001 certification. Securing samples, checking work quality & standard.
Well Established company, making process plant & machinery for the food ingredient and manufacturing industry.
The candidate ideally would have a background in a manufacturing and Engineering industry as Project Buyer or junior buyer
