Special Requirements Senior Civil and Structural Designer (Microstation and AutoCAD) Manchester Job: Structural Employment Type: Contractor Job Level: Experienced Contractor Maximum Salary/Hourly Rate: 33 Reporting Manager Title: C, S&A Chief Engineer Duration of Contract: 6 weeks with possibility of 6 Months We are currently sourcing a Senior Civil and Structural Designer (CAD AutoCAD and Microstation) to join our clients’ large company. Work will be a mixture of steel work and concrete including reinforcement detailing in both AutoCAD and Microstation. You will be a Senior Civil and Structural Designer with recent and proven track record on similar projects undertaking detail design work. • You must have right to work in UK already in place. Non EU Applicants not considered. Good communication, accuracy, team work and presentation skills are essential. The individual must be self-motivated and must be competent in the use of AutoCAD 2014 or later & Microstation V8i. Competent in PDMS will be an advantage. Core Responsibilities: • 2D drawing and detailing of Structural Steelwork, Concrete (including RC scheduling) and roads/drainage. • Independent production of Civil and Structural drawings with reference to LFM Cloud surveys using Microstation and AutoCAD with true regard to Safety and in compliance with national and Client Codes & Standards. • Efficient interpretation of Clients, Licensors, and other design disciplines and suppliers information to ensure project deadlines are met in a timely manner. • Participation in internal and external design reviews. • Occasional site visits in North and East of England Specific Accountabilities to include some or all of: • Efficiently executing CAD design activities as directed by the Project Lead Designer and Lead CSA Engineer. • Ensure that the applicable company systems are used, that the relevant QA procedures and standards are followed and that the civil and structural deliverables, within delegated area of responsibility conforms to contract specific requirements and any applicable Client, company, national and international standards, design codes and legislation and raise deviations where necessary. • Complete all work within the estimated manhour budget and in a timely manner to ensure that project deadlines are met, maintaining own work progress (budget and schedule) and identifying scope change where necessary. • Liaise with Clients, Licensors, other design disciplines and suppliers on technical matters on a regular basis and in a professional manner • Working accurately and always within the provisions and guidelines of the Company Quality Assurance system or that relevant to the Project. • Safety – responsible for personal safety safe working practices for the Project. Qualifications, Technical and Industry Experience: • HND/HNC or higher in Civil and Structural Design/Draughting. • Microstation (essential) • AutoCAD (essential) • HND/HNC or higher in Civil and Structural Design/Draughting. • 4-5 Design project minimum experience • Enthusiastic candidate willing to learn. • Broad expertise in Pipe Supports concrete, infrastructure and steelwork. • Accurate and fast worker. • Proven record of client satisfaction • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
