Special Requirements The EC & I Section Manager will be responsible for ensuring that their design section meets its objectives with regards to turnover, profitability, quality and effectiveness whilst ensuing the team work harmoniously together and with all other parties it interacts with. Main Responsibilities of the EC & I Manager: Direct and supervise the activities of assigned personnel in the CE Section Ensure robust checking and approval procedure are in place Determine requirements, supervise and participate in the preparation of specifications and drawings and discuss the same with the project teams Day to day management and resourcing of the CE design team Undertake the role of lead CE design engineer on major projects Ensure high standards of quality and efficiency are maintained and client's requirements are met through compliance with ISO9001 quality procedures, appropriate checking and verification and the application of effective controls Design estimating Ensure all designs comply with relevant UK, European and International industry and client standards along with meeting safety and environmental requirements Development of internal systems to ensure all performance criteria are met Direct contact with clients and production of design quotations Management of CE design requirements for multi discipline front end engineering design and build packages and estimates Ensure effective communication with the Project sections, company's clients, sub-contractors and suppliers Develop company's range of CE design services to win new business and develop services in order to operate efficiently in new sectors Assist business development team in securing new work and development into new sectors Pro-active in the management of health and safety, in accordance with the safety responsibility statement Continuously explore opportunity for improvement Any other duties which are appropriate to the success of the business. This individual should be self-motivated and possess strong leadership skills with an initiative to deliver high quality, technically sound electrical designs. The Ideal Candidate should have: Previous experience within a similar position and be a professionally qualified engineer with extensive industry related experience A sound instrument and electrical knowledge of process control & electrical requirements in Hazardous and Non - Hazardous Areas within the Chemical Process type industry is required A good working knowledge of ATEX Directives for selection and installation of control and electrical equipment in Hazardous Areas is also required Be able to design all types of instrument loops (pressure, temperature, flow, level etc), electrical circuits including motor controls, LV distribution, lighting and earthing Knowledge of PLC and DCS control system I/O interfacing is required. As the EC & I Section Manager you should be familiar with British and International Standards, the use of Company Standards, Industry Regulations and EC Directives, Health and Safety and CDM Regulations and Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
