Senior Mechanical Engineer Warrington – Rate Negotiable
Our client, a Multi-Discipline Engineering Design company providing Mechanical and CE&I Engineering Design services to the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, is seeking the additional assistance of a Senior Mechanical Engineer to provide mechanical engineering input in close conjunction with the Lead Mechanical engineer and a multidisciplinary team to include the application of best practices and LFE; consideration of ALARP, nuclear accountancy, permanent/ temporary containment/ventilation systems and contamination control approaches.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be expected to:
Produce detailed design of all associated equipment for the retrieval of cannisters from stores including design for manufacture, checking of manufacturing drawings and associated calculations.
Interface between other disciplines, such as Process and EC&I.
Efficiently liaise with stake-holders
Deliver work activities against agreed work plans,
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
5 years nuclear experience
First class written and personal communication skills
Experience of design for manufacture and design checking
Ability to deliver/develop/input to complex options and/or study reports.
Ability to liaise with stakeholders across a wide range of specialist areas and at all levels.
Experience of new and ageing Alpha plant.
Knowledge of Project Functional Specifications and Study Briefs
Peer review/checking of Study reports/Drawing schemes
Knowledge of Technology Readiness Level assessments
Knowledge of CAD design
Microsoft packages (word, excel, power point, Visio)
Security Clearance Requirements
BPSS (SL BPSS would be a preference)
Duration of Contract: To April 2020
